Instructions:

pre-task: training in the use of wiki and both oral and written chats in this phase students are paired randomly assignments are not graded

taks proper – the students are matched depending on their language level

the in-class element: grammar practice and reading different genres (different writing conventions) plus discussions of the topics of writing assignments generally speaking, these interactions should be related to issues of language, structure, organization and content.

The authors of the task (see cited article) designed 15 days for every assignment each essay was required in
two drafts – first and final.

Schedule and Activities



Week 1, Day 1

Learners discuss the topic, organization and structure in class.

Week 1, Days 2- 5

Learners work on writing assignments using wikis and chats.

Week 1, Day 5

Draft 1 using wikis is turned in.

Week1, Days 6- 7

The instructor provides comments regarding content, structure and form in the wikis (within two days).

Week 2, Day 1

In class, learners and the instructor comment on a few of the learners’ essays, reading for content, structure and accuracy.

Week 2, Days 2- 7

Learners continue working on their writing assignments using both wikis and chats.

Week 3, Day 1

Learners complete the writing assignment (Draft 2) in the wikis.
