http://www.crazyhoroscopes.com/love-letter-generator2.php
Instructions:
Stage 1 (preparation through the instructors):
– Create a closed forum (in Moodle for example)
– Search for a love letter generator in every language
Examples are provided in English and French in " suggested resources"
– Form pairs of telecollaborative partners
Stage 2 (research):
– Ask every telecollaborative partner to create a love letter with the love letter generator
In order to make this activity more playful, the telecollaborative partners can use the partner’ s criteria to create the letter
– Every telecollaborative partner extracts the letter and publishes it in the forum
– Afterwards the pairs discuss the letters in a synchronous way (through chat or videoconference):
the similarities or the differences between the two examples of love letters / the information contained in each letter / the pertinence of every letter
Stage 3 (production):
– Following the model love letter, the telecollaborative partners need to write a letter of 80 to 120 words (depending on the level) and post it in the forum afterwards, in which:
they imagine that they have not seen their mate for a long time / they imagine that they are far away from one another, and that the loss is hard to handle
– The telecollaborative partners comment on the products of their partners
Stage 4 (wrap-up in class):
Feedback on the accomplishment of task instructions, on the adaptation of the language to the context and on the differences between the love letters of the two countries
