Instructions:
Phase 1 (preparation through the instructors):
– create a closed forum (Moodle type)
– Form teams of 4 students from two universities
1 pair of students per university
Phase 2 (research):
– Ask the pairs to do research on the Internet on the initiation rituals of the partners’ university: the existence or non-existence of initiation rituals / their duration/ the actors / the characteristics of these rituals
– Afterwards, the teams exchange the information they obtained, confirming or refuting their hypotheses in the forum
Phase 3 (production):
Ask the pairs to produce and publish a text in the forum in which they position themselves in terms of integration rituals at their universities.
If there is no integration ritual, the telecollaborative partners position themselves concerning the utility or non-utility of an integration ritual
– The text is supposed to comprise between 100 and 120 words (depending on the level)
– It presents the integration rituals briefly if there are any
– It states the general opinion of the telecollaborative partners and is supposed to present at least three arguments and three examples
Phase 4 (exchange):
Encourage the teams to comment on the texts of their partners and position themselves concerning their ideas in the forum
Phase 5 (wrap up-in class):
Feedback on the accomplishment of the task instructions, on the construction of the texts, and on the differences and similarities between the integration rituals on the campuses of the two countries

The telecollaborative partners could discover a number of information on the integration rituals of my campus. They produced a text in which they positioned themselves in terms of these rituals and made remarks through comments.
