Description

The aim of this COIL will be to allow students to study modern African history through the lens of what works. The instructor running the course is open to several possibilities for the location as well as the specific topic of examination. Of most interest are: 1. democracies in Botswana, Namibia, Kenya 2. economies in Nigeria, Rwanda, and the Congo 3. disease remediation in Uganda or Liberia 4. historical memory in places like Kenya, South Africa, or the Congo
