What
The Introduction to Virtual Exchange course is designed for those who may be new to Virtual Exchange, or have some familiarity but would like to know more about the different models, the pedagogical principles and technological requirements, as well as the opportunities and potential challenges involved.
Who
The course is suitable for professors and teaching staff, as well as administration staff working in internationalisation, teaching and learning support units, IT services, and programme development.
The course offers participants the opportunity to meet colleagues working in other Higher Education Institutions around the world, and thus potentially develop their networks in view of developing VE projects.
How
The course lasts four weeks, and consists mostly of asynchronous tasks and activities which participants can work on when it’s more convenient to them. Every week (usually on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning), there is also a 90-minute synchronous session on Zoom, involving small-group activities and plenary discussions. You can expect to spend 4-5 hours per week engaging with the materials, completing short tasks, and participating in the weekly meetings.
Language
The language of instruction is English used as a Lingua Franca.
Recognition
Participants will receive a digital badge on completion of the course (including participation in at least 3 out of the 4 synchronous sessions).
