Introduction to Virtual Exchange

What

The Introduction to Virtual Exchange course is designed for those who have limited familiarity with Virtual Exchange and would like to know more about the different models, the pedagogical principles and technological requirements, as well as the opportunities and potential challenges involved.

Who

The course is suitable for professors and teaching staff, as well as administration staff working in internationalisation, teaching and learning support units, IT services, and programme development. The course offers participants the opportunity to meet colleagues working in other Higher Education Institutions around the world, and thus potentially develop their networks in view of designing VE projects.

How

The course lasts three weeks, and consists of asynchronous tasks and activities which participants can work on when it’s more convenient to them. Every week (usually on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, days may change for each iteration depending on the availability of the trainers), there is also a two-hour synchronous session on Zoom, involving small-group activities and plenary discussions. You can expect to spend 3-4 hours per week engaging with the materials, completing short tasks, and participating in the weekly meetings.

Language

The language of instruction is English used as a Lingua Franca.

Recognition

Participants will receive a digital badge on completion of the course (including participation in at least 2 out of the 3 synchronous sessions).

Interested?

The next iteration begins the week of 8th May 2023 and ends on 26th May. The synchronous session will be on Wednesday 13-15 CEST ( (Wednesday 10th, 17th and 24th May). The remaining tasks are all asynchronous, so can be done when it suits you best.  If you would like to register, use the link below.
